Agilus is recruiting for a Energy Engineer - Modelling in the Engineering Sector in Windsor, Ontario.

You’ll create cutting-edge computer simulations of buildings to predict energy performance, optimize designs for maximum efficiency, and drive sustainability initiatives like LEED certification. In this role, you’ll analyze architectural and mechanical plans, uncover energy-saving opportunities, and craft technical reports that influence real-world projects.

A typical day:
  • Build & Run Models: Develop detailed energy models for various building types (offices, healthcare, etc.) using simulation software
  • Analyze Data: Interpret architectural drawings, utility bills, and site data, documenting assumptions thoroughly.
  • Identify Solutions: Propose strategies for energy savings, better indoor air quality, and thermal comfort. Specific to Labs and Hospitals
  • Perform Analyses: Conduct lifecycle cost (LCCA) and carbon emissions analysis.
  • Support Certifications: A.E.E License in required
  • Report & Present: Write technical reports and present findings and recommendations to design teams.

Successful candidates will have:
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in energy modeling software, understanding of building physics, HVAC, and sustainable design.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail for accurate simulations.
  • Communication: Ability to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Education: A degree in engineering (building, mechanical) or building science.
  • Experience: Experience with building performance analysis and modeling.
