Mechanical Engineer

Agilus is recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer in the chemical industry in Sarnia, Ontario. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design, construction, maintenance, and repair of the plant buildings and machinery. Utilizes and establishes ARL standards and policies regarding pollution control, testing, operating procedures, inspection, and maintenance of equipment. Research and recommends purchases of new equipment and systems. Analyzes planning and maintenance procedures required to achieve departmental objectives. Total rewards:- $60.00 - $70.00 hourly
- Preferred rates for benefit coverage available
- Contract with the opportunity for extension
A typical day:- Provide Mechanical/Maintenance technical support. Ensure the technical specifications for spare parts meet business needs
- Support and optimize reliability processes: LMS action items – incident reviews, complete action items, Improvement Plan – Develop concepts, implement reliability related projects
- Lead MOCs including scope of work, AR packages, safety reviews, etc., with a mechanical focus
- Develop mechanical standards, SOPs and systems management approaches
- Manage/implement plant trials with mechanical focus
Successful candidates will have:- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Technologist diploma with 3-5 years’ experience
Professional Engineer preferred
- 5 - 10 years relevant experience
- Prior experience in mechanical and reliability engineering in a manufacturing environment. Prior experience in a Petrochemical industrial environment highly preferred
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office, SAP, industry specific databases, Lotus Notes
- Proven ability to manage projects, including the ability to facilitate meetings, influence change and interact with roles from all levels of the organization
