Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Senior Piping Lead in the Engineering consulting industry in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Hatch's Vancouver team is seeking a Senior Piping Engineer with proven experience supporting mining and mineral processing projects. This role will provide technical leadership, manage piping scope, and lead engineering teams through all phases of project delivery. Responsibilities include developing system requirements, design criteria, engineering calculations, technical specifications, datasheets, and reports, while contributing to 3D models and 2D drawings. This is primarily an office-based role with occasional site visits, offering exposure to complex, multidisciplinary mining projects.

A typical day:

Lead and manage piping engineering teams, supporting project delivery, scope execution, and coordination with project management.
Define piping scope, prepare estimates, and contribute to project proposals and work plans.
Manage piping schedules, budgets, progress reporting, and change management activities.
Lead the development of P&IDs, piping isometrics, 3D models, piping layouts, and system designs.
Prepare and review piping deliverables, including line lists, valve lists, specialty item lists, support designs, and material take-offs (MTOs).
Perform engineering studies and calculations, including hydraulic analyses, slurry flow calculations, pump selection, stress analysis, and line sizing.
Develop piping specifications, support standards, procurement packages, technical evaluations, and cost estimates.
Support project execution through design reviews, technical reporting, construction support, technical query resolution, and system commissioning activities.

Successful candidates will have:

BSc/BEng in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Plant Engineering, or a related discipline.
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation required.
15+ years of project engineering experience, ideally with experience as a Piping Lead or progression toward a lead role.
Strong knowledge of piping engineering standards, regulations, codes, and industry best practices.
Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams, coordinate across disciplines, and supervise technical staff.
Experience managing engineering workflows, project execution procedures, schedules, and deliverables.
Proficiency with 3D data-centric design systems and engineering management systems.
Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and mentor others.
