Rail Unloader

Agilus is recruiting for a Rail Unloader in the oil & gas industry in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The position of Terminal Rail Unloader/Support will provide bulk fuel terminal operations and maintenance support with a primary focus on providing safe and efficient rail transload operations. Total rewards:- $30.00 - $34.00 hourly
- 1 year contract - opportunity for extension
A typical day:- Comply with all plant safety rules/PPE requirements and work with terminal leadership towards achieving goals/objectives
- Unload railcars
- Ensure railcars are properly equipped for the loading/unloading of customers' commodities, including transportation of dangerous goods
- Support in other yard duties as required
- Communicate with the switching crews and operations for the safe and efficient transfer of the customers product
- Perform various maintenance tasks assigned during times when transloading operations are not necessary.
- Perform various operations tasks to support terminal product movement
- Ability to read and write general documentation including safety briefings, policy and procedure manuals
Successful candidates will have:- Physically fit including the ability to pull self up and down from a railcar on a
continuous basis, able to lift and twist air hoses, able to secure rail car brakes, derails, and switches
- Ability to use outlook and Excel
- Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities
- Must maintain clear drug & alcohol clearance
throughout employment
- Must be able & willing to work in all weather conditions.
