Senior Electrical Technologist IV

Agilus is recruiting for a Senior Electrical Technologist IV in the Oil and Gas Sector in Calgary, Alberta. Lead the design review process with internal and external stakeholders ensuring regulatory requirements, code and specifications, standards and procedures are followed including Process Hazard operability and constructability perspective. Total rewards:- $79.00 - $91.00 hourly
- Pay rates $ 70 to $79 for T4 and $85 to $91 for IC
- 1 year contract
- Location: Calgary or Edmonton
- Hybrid Model: In-Office (Monday, Tuesday & Thursday), Remote (Wednesday & Friday)
- Travel: Yes, approx. 25% to project work sites
A typical day:- Own and manage the relationship and contracts with Engineering services providers (ESP).
- Lead the specification and requisition of materials by reviewing vendor materials quotations, evaluate technical bid evaluations and provide recommendation based on technical merit along with price and delivery. Collaborate with Supply Chain to procure material via internal tools.
- Provide technical support during all project phases, including project development, design, construction, and commissioning.
- Supports the development of the project scope, schedule, capital cost estimate, execution planning, and risks during the project development phase.
- Support Operations with any incident investigations after project handover.

Successful candidates will have:- 7+ years progressive experience in designing power distribution systems for Oil and Gas facilities, with hands on experience in the analysis of control schematics for power equipment (ex: medium voltage switchgear/motor control centers, electrical switchgear buildings, PLC systems, medium voltage VFDs, instrumentation knowledge of pressure and temperature transmitters, SCADA), controls, and integration. Knowledge of power distribution systems for cooling facilities would also be a benefit.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Professional Engineer designation with APEGA, or eligibility to register.
- Strong working knowledge of national codes (CEC and NEC) and industry standards such API, IEEE, UL, etc.
