Senior Controls Systems Programmer

Agilus is recruiting for a Senior Controls Systems Programmer in the Engineering Sector in Edmonton, Alberta.
Magna IV Engineering is seeking a Control Systems Programmer to join our automation team. In this role, you will design, program, and implement control systems for industrial applications, including PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA platforms.
Total rewards:

$100000.00 - $130000.00 annually
4 weeks vacation flexible based on experience
Bonus based on company performance
RRSP Matching starting at 3%
Open to hybrid after 6 months employment

A typical day:

Design & Implementation: Develop and optimize automation systems to improve operational efficiency and reliability
Programming & Configuration: Convert control narratives into effective strategies, programming everything from basic loops to complex shutdown keys and Safety Instrumented Functions (SIFs).
Testing & Commissioning: Lead acceptance testing, perform loop checks, integrate third-party systems, and ensure smooth system functionality.
Collaboration: Work closely with instrumentation and networking teams to troubleshoot and deliver high-quality results.
Client Interaction: Provide exceptional support and maintain strong relationships through clear communication and reliable service.
Documentation: Prepare accurate technical reports and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Successful candidates will have:

Education: Certification from a trade, technical, or engineering program.
Experience: Hands-on experience commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining industrial control systems.
Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of Rockwell Automation/Allen Bradley ControlLogix and FactoryTalk View (ME and SE). Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RTU). Experience with additional platforms such as Schneider Electric Modicon, Emerson DeltaV, Wonderware, or Honeywell C200/C300 is an asset.
Soft Skills: Strong organizational and time management abilities, excellent communication skills, and a proactive, adaptable attitude.
