In this 12-month term role, you’ll design and size critical safety systems, ensure compliance with industry standards, and contribute to safe, reliable operations. Responsibilities:- Perform PSV, BDV, control valve, regulator, and vent sizing per safety standards
- Support flare header and tail pipe sizing for safe relief capacity
- Define process set points and instrumentation values
- Review and implement specifications for relief and control systems
- Mark P&IDs with confirmed sizing results and maintain database accuracy
- Prepare and manage process BOMs and procurement data
- Request vendor quotes, evaluate selections, and identify long-lead items
- Develop shutdown keys, control narratives, and contribute to alarm philosophies
Requirements:- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Process, or Mechanical Engineering
- Eligible for or registered as P.Eng. with APEGA (or equivalent)
- 3–10 years of experience in pressure relief systems design per API standards
- Skilled in PSV, BDV, CV, regulator, and vent sizing tools
- Proficient in process simulation software (Symmetry, Aspen HYSYS, Promax)
- Experience in flare hydraulic analysis and disposal system sizing
- Knowledge of alarm philosophies and shutdown key development
- Competency in BOM generation and engineering data management systems
