2-year contract for a Buyer open now in downtown Calgary!Agilus is recruiting for a Buyer in the oil and gas sector in Calgary, Alberta. Our oil and gas client in downtown Calgary is actively hiring for a Buyer to join their team. This is a fast-paced, high-volume role, perfect for someone with around 10 years of experience and advanced SAP experience. What's in it for you:- $45.00 - $52.00 hourly
- Contract duration: 2 years with chance to go permanent
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm
- Work model: in office Mondays/Tuesdays/Thursdays
- Location: downtown Calgary
Responsibilities:- Manage purchasing activities in SAP, including reviewing requisitions, issuing competitive RFQs/RFPs, and analyzing supplier bids.
- Create and oversee purchase orders, resolve invoice discrepancies, and act as the primary contact for all PO-related matters.
- Procure engineered and operational materials while coordinating closely with suppliers, engineering, legal, risk, project teams, and other stakeholders.
- Lead procurement for assigned projects or commodities, negotiate commercial terms using bid and technical evaluation data, and drive cost-saving and process-improvement initiatives.
- Provide insights to business leaders by monitoring supplier performance, cost drivers, market trends, and future supply chain needs.
Requirements:- 10+ years of experience in full cycle procurement
- Advanced SAP user
- Experience in a high-volume purchasing environment
- Any Power BI or Ariba experience will be an asset
