Settlement Analyst

We are looking for an analytical accounting professional for a 6-month contract as a Settlement Analyst
Agilus is recruiting for a Settlement Analyst in the Energy Industry in a hybrid work environment in Calgary, Alberta.
The Settlement Analyst will be responsible for small projects & growth deliverables. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience working with complex data in a fast-paced environment.
Total rewards:

$28.00 hourly
6- month contract
Monday to Friday
Hybrid work style

A typical day:

Conduct investigations of discrepancies resulting from settlements and invoicing activities
Set up wire requests/send for payment to customers
Work with other analysts to ensure that their invoices and payments are properly reflected in the accounting system
Monitor receivable to ensure payments are received and are properly allocated
Update and maintain payment calendar

Successful candidates will have:

2+ years of experience in accounting or finance
Bachelor’s in accounting/finance is required
Understand electricity pool settlement & ability to apply market knowledge
Solid understanding of Sarbanes Oxley controls, compliance procedures, regulatory impacts and internal policies
Excellent communication skills
Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and accountable to resolve issues & troubleshoot independently
Strong Excel skills. Querying databases (SQL) is desired
Understanding of generating assets, commercial contracts, industry regulations
