Settlement Analyst
Calgary, AB
We are looking for an analytical accounting professional for a 6-month contract as a Settlement AnalystAgilus is recruiting for a Settlement Analyst in the Energy Industry in a hybrid work environment in Calgary, Alberta. The Settlement Analyst will be responsible for small projects & growth deliverables. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience working with complex data in a fast-paced environment. Total rewards:- $28.00 hourly
- 6- month contract
- Monday to Friday
- Hybrid work style
A typical day:- Conduct investigations of discrepancies resulting from settlements and invoicing activities
- Set up wire requests/send for payment to customers
- Work with other analysts to ensure that their invoices and payments are properly reflected in the accounting system
- Monitor receivable to ensure payments are received and are properly allocated
- Update and maintain payment calendar
Successful candidates will have:- 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance
- Bachelor’s in accounting/finance is required
- Understand electricity pool settlement & ability to apply market knowledge
- Solid understanding of Sarbanes Oxley controls, compliance procedures, regulatory impacts and internal policies
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and accountable to resolve issues & troubleshoot independently
- Strong Excel skills. Querying databases (SQL) is desired
- Understanding of generating assets, commercial contracts, industry regulations
