Contract IT Data Analyst

Agilus is recruiting for a Contract IT Data Analyst in the Oil &Gas / Energy in Calgary, Alberta. Join a dynamic team focused on leveraging data and automation to solve business challenges and optimise IT/OT systems. You will collect, clean, and analyse data to uncover trends and deliver actionable insights that improve operational efficiency. This role combines technical expertise with strong communication skills to influence decision-making and drive continuous improvement. Total rewards:- $47.00 - $62.00 hourly

- In office role all 5 days in Calgary downtown
A typical day:- Gather and manage data from multiple sources including databases and external systems
- Develop and maintain ETL processes and data storage solutions
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and quality across systems
- Apply statistical techniques to analyse data and identify trends
- Build data models to support predictive analysis and decision-making
- Create dashboards, reports, and visualisations for stakeholders
- Communicate insights to technical and non-technical audiences
- Troubleshoot and optimise data systems and processes for efficiency
Successful candidates will have:- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in data analysis or similar role
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, Power BI, and data modelling techniques
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences
- Experience with Databricks, PI Data Historian, MS SQL Server, REST API programming (desirable)
- Knowledge of upstream oil & gas processes, SCADA, SAP, and field data capture (desirable)
