Accounts Payable Specialist - Contract

Agilus is recruiting for a Accounts Payable Specialist in the city of in Windsor, Ontario.
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, supporting month-end close activities, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. This role requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience with SAP and Excel.
Total rewards:

$34.00 - $36.00 hourly
Contract: 6 months with possibility of extension or permanent offer
Hours: 8am to 5pm, 40 hours per week
Fully on site Monday to Friday
Weekly Pay!
Vacation pay added to every paycheck

A typical day:

Review and verify vendor invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper authorization
Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents
Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies in collaboration with Purchasing, Receiving, and Vendors
Support vendor statement reconciliations and resolve outstanding items
Assist with accounts payable accruals and reconciliations during month-end close
Support general ledger reviews related to AP transactions
Ensure month-end close deadlines are consistently met
Prepare and provide documentation for internal and external audits, maintaining accurate and well-organized AP records in accordance with company policies

Successful candidates will have:

Proven experience in an Accounts Payable or Finance role
Strong SAP and Excel skills
Experience with invoice matching, reconciliations, and discrepancy resolution
Solid understanding of accounts payable processes and basic accounting principles
High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors
Experience supporting month-end close in a high-volume environment
Previous exposure to audits and financial documentation requests an asset
