A typical day:- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for commercial properties
- Ensure accuracy in CAM, recoveries, property taxes, and lease-related accounting
- Support audits, year-end processes, and compliance requirements
- Analyze property performance, variances, and portfolio trends
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting cycles
- Build financial models for leasing, capital projects, and recoveries
- Improve workflows, reporting, and data integrity within Yardi or similar ERP systems
- Collaborate with operational teams and mentor junior accounting staff
Successful candidates will have:- CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA
- 3–6 years of progressive accounting or finance experience
- Experience in commercial real estate or asset-based industries an asset
- Strong understanding of financial reporting and variance analysis
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, financial modelling)
- Experience with Yardi or similar property management systems preferred
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and commercially minded
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
