Financial Analyst

This contract Accounting/Financial Analyst role is ideal CPA who thrives in complex, high-accountability environments.
Agilus is recruiting for a Financial Analyst in the health care industry in Vancouver, British Columbia.
You’ll play a key role in validating payments, strengthening financial controls, resolving discrepancies, and improving operational workflows. Working onsite initially with a collaborative finance team, you’ll apply professional judgment to non-standard cases while supporting reporting, reconciliations, and system enhancements that directly impact service delivery.

Total rewards:
  • $30.00 - $50.00 hourly
  • 6-month contract with strong potential for extension
  • Standard full-time hours (7.5 hours/day, Monday–Friday)

A typical day:
  • Validate payment eligibility against program and policy requirements
  • Analyze discrepancies including duplicates, overpayments, and risk patterns
  • Review and approve files prepared by clerks to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Lead account reconciliations and resolve complex variances
  • Develop operational and performance reports to track volumes and error trends
  • Identify bottlenecks and recommend process and capacity improvements
  • Lead system testing, build test scripts, and validate exception workflows
  • Collaborate with project, systems, and finance leaders to mature processes

Successful candidates will have:
  • CPA designation from a recognized accounting body
  • 4–6 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial analysis
  • Strong analytical, evaluation, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience reviewing complex financial data and reports
  • Proven ability to plan, organize, and meet tight deadlines
  • High attention to detail with sound professional judgment
  • Comfortable working with confidential and sensitive information
  • Ability to pass required background, credit, and credential checks
