Agilus is recruiting for a Sr. Financial Analyst in the oil & gas industry in a hybrid work environment in Toronto, Ontario.
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting Gas Distribution’s financial performance. This position involves delivering accurate financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance reporting to guide strategic decisions. You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders, streamline processes, and ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks while driving operational efficiency.

A typical day:
  • Provide financial analysis and interpretation of operational performance to support business decisions.
  • Perform month-end tasks, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for O&M and Capital.
  • Prepare monthly reports for leadership with actionable recommendations.
  • Develop forecasts, annual budgets, and long-range plans for Gas Distribution.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and support SOX controls and audits.
  • Deliver ad hoc reporting and analysis for management decision-making.
  • Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders to validate financial processes.

Successful candidates will have:
  • University degree in Business or related field (required).
  • Professional designation (CPA, CMA, CA, CGA) or MBA (preferred).
  • 2+ years of post-designation experience in financial analytics.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in SAP, Oracle, Hyperion (preferred).
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and implement process improvements.
  • Understanding of regulatory environments and financial management strategies.
