Senior Systems Engineer – Azure Cloud & Infrastructure Modernization | Contract-to-Hire
Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Senior Systems Engineer in the insurance industry in a hybrid work environment in MONTREAL, Quebec.
We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead enterprise infrastructure modernization, cloud transformation, and operational excellence initiatives within a highly regulated environment. This hands-on technical leadership role combines cloud engineering, infrastructure management, automation, security, and mentorship. You'll serve as a senior escalation point, drive Azure and Microsoft 365 optimization, and help shape the future of a modern hybrid infrastructure while contributing to strategic technology initiatives.
Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and support enterprise Azure and Windows Server infrastructure
Serve as the senior escalation point for complex infrastructure and operational issues
Lead Microsoft 365 administration, governance, optimization, and security initiatives
Architect and manage Azure services including networking, storage, backup, monitoring, and identity solutions
Develop PowerShell automation and infrastructure improvement initiatives
Administer Active Directory, Entra ID, Group Policy, and hybrid identity environments
Lead infrastructure upgrades, lifecycle management, patching, and modernization efforts
Partner with cybersecurity teams on security remediation, compliance, and audit readiness initiatives

Requirements:

Bring 7+ years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure, or senior systems administration roles
Demonstrate deep expertise with Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud environments
Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, and Entra ID
Support Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 environments at enterprise scale
Apply advanced knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and identity management
Manage VMware and/or Hyper-V virtualization environments
