Senior SDET / QE Platform Engineer

Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Senior SDET / QE Platform Engineer in the financial services in a hybrid work environment in Toronto, Ontario.
We are partnering with a leading Canadian organization seeking a highly technical Senior SDET / Quality Engineering Platform Engineer to join a centralized Quality Engineering team responsible for building and maintaining enterprise automation capabilities. This is not a traditional test automation role focused solely on creating automated test scripts. Instead, you'll help design, build, and evolve the frameworks, platforms, tools, and services that enable automation at scale across multiple engineering teams.
A typical day:

Design, develop, and enhance enterprise automation frameworks.
Create reusable automation capabilities and framework components.
Improve framework performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Establish and promote automation best practices.
Build and support internal automation tools and QE accelerators.
Develop solutions that streamline testing processes and improve quality outcomes.
Contribute to automation platforms used by multiple delivery teams.
Develop and maintain Java-based applications and services.

Successful candidates will have:

Strong experience as an SDET, Automation Engineer, Software Developer, or Quality Engineer.
Hands-on Java development experience.
Experience developing applications or services using Spring Boot.
Experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks.
Strong understanding of automation architecture and engineering principles.
Experience with API automation using Karate.
Experience with UI automation using WebdriverIO (WDIO) and TypeScript.
Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and/or GitHub Actions.

Total rewards:

$60.00 hourly

Additional Consideration given to:

Experience building internal engineering tools or shared services platforms.
Exposure to DevOps and platform engineering practices.
Financial services or highly regulated industry experience.
Experience supporting large-scale enterprise automation initiatives.
Experience with GCP
