Senior Data Engineer

Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Senior Data Engineer in the financial services in a hybrid work environment in Toronto, Ontario.
Our client, a leading financial services organization, is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to support the implementation and integration of a new Treasury Management System.
Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL and ELT pipelines
Support data migration, transformation, validation, and reconciliation activities
Integrate the Treasury Management System with internal and external data sources
Build cloud-based data solutions using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, ADLS, and Azure Synapse
Develop data processing solutions using Python, PySpark, and SQL
Implement data-quality controls, profiling, monitoring, and exception-handling processes
Troubleshoot production issues and support ongoing platform stability
Collaborate with business, technology, architecture, and vendor stakeholders

Requirements:

8+ years of professional data engineering experience
Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks
Advanced Python, PySpark, and SQL skills
Experience working with ADLS, Azure Synapse, and Snowflake
Proven experience building enterprise-scale ETL and ELT pipelines
Strong background in data migration, integration, profiling, validation, and reconciliation
Experience developing data-quality frameworks and operational controls
Financial services, banking, pension, investment management, or capital markets experience

Total rewards:

$90.00 - $100.00 hourly

An ideal candidate has:

Experience supporting a Treasury Management System implementation
Knowledge of treasury operations, cash management, liquidity, payments, or investment operations
Experience working with SWIFT or other financial messaging and payment platforms
Familiarity with financial reporting, transaction data, and enterprise data platforms
Previous experience working on complex vendor-led transformation programs
