Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Senior Construction Accountant in the Real Estate Industry in a hybrid work environment in Toronto, Ontario.

This is an opportunity to work directly with construction leadership, Project Managers, and senior executives on large-scale residential developments. You'll play a key role in monitoring project financial performance, supporting funding activities, identifying financial risks, and providing meaningful insights that drive business decisions.

A typical day:

Collaborate with construction and finance teams to streamline processes and enhance project controls
Partner with Project Managers and site teams to validate project costs and approvals
Review and process construction invoices while maintaining strong financial controls
Monitor budgets, commitments, change orders, holdbacks, and cost transfers
Support monthly lender draws, funding submissions, and project cash flow activities
Analyze project financial performance, variances, and forecasting assumptions
Prepare month-end reporting, reconciliations, and financial analysis
Develop and improve Excel-based reporting tools, models, and tracking systems

Successful candidates will have:

University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline
CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA (Core 2 completed preferred)
Experience in public accounting, project accounting, construction accounting, or real estate accounting
Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, reconciliations, and financial analysis
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to build and enhance financial models
Excellent communication skills and confidence interacting with senior stakeholders
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify risks, trends, and opportunities
Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative environment
