Senior Advisor, Fixed Assets - Contract

Agilus is recruiting for a Senior Advisor, Fixed Assets - Contract in the city of in Toronto, Ontario. Total rewards:- $40.00 - $50.00 hourly
- 1 Year Contract
- Hybrid work model: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday in office
- Location: North York, On
A typical day:- Support month-end close activities (unitizations, AROs, retirements, depreciation, etc.) and work effectively under tight deadlines.
- Prepare and/or review financial reports for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Assist with monthly account reconciliations and support regulatory/OEB requests, including rate rebasing.
- Review Fixed Asset subledger setup and drive process and system improvements.
- Support Unify in converting current GDS accounting systems (Oracle R12, SAP, PowerPlan).
- Coordinate with departments on month-end close, special requests, issue resolution, and cross-functional projects.
- Support SOX controls, audit requirements, and analyze complex issues to recommend process enhancements.
- Handle special projects and ad hoc requests as needed.
Successful candidates will have:- CPA with 6+ years of relevant experience and a university degree in business, commerce, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a results-oriented mindset and willingness to share knowledge openly.
- Advanced Excel skills, including querying tools and pivot tables; strong system proficiency.
- Solid working knowledge of SAP and/or Oracle, with experience in regulatory environments preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, systems, processes, and company structure.
- Able to independently assess situations, use sound judgment, and resolve complex issues accurately.
- Capable of completing complex, non-routine assignments; proactive in anticipating and mitigating problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communicator who aligns with core values of Integrity, Safety, and Respect.
