Azure FinOps Specialist

Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Azure FinOps Specialist in the finance sector in Toronto, Ontario.
We are seeking an experienced Azure FinOps Specialist to support cloud cost management, financial analysis, reporting, and spend optimization within a large enterprise environment. This role will focus heavily on Azure billing, consumption analytics, cost allocation, forecasting, and identifying opportunities to optimize cloud spend through data-driven insights.
Responsibilities:

Reconcile Azure billing and usage data with financial, procurement, and operational records
Develop reporting and dashboards that provide visibility into Azure spend, consumption patterns, cost allocation, and forecasting
Support chargeback/showback, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities
Identify opportunities related to Azure reservations, commitment-based discounts, rightsizing, and cloud cost optimization
Partner with Finance, Procurement, Cloud Platform, Architecture, and Technology teams to provide actionable insights and recommendations
Analyze Azure cloud billing, consumption, utilization, and cost management data to identify trends, anomalies, and optimization opportunities
Support vendor reviews, contract renewals, and commercial discussions through detailed spend and consumption analysis

Requirements:

5+ years of experience in FinOps, cloud cost management, technology financial management, or cloud financial analytics
Strong hands-on experience with Azure Cost Management, Azure billing, consumption reporting, pricing structures, and cloud spend optimization
Experience working within large enterprise environments with established governance, architecture, and data management processes
Strong SQL and advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze and reconcile large datasets
Experience with Power BI, Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, or similar analytics platforms
Experience supporting cost allocation, chargeback/showback, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
FinOps Certified Practitioner or equivalent certification
Experience supporting Azure cloud environments at enterprise scale

Soft skills:

Ability to independently manage analysis and deliver insights with minimal supervision
The ability to communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Strong understanding of cloud consumption models, enterprise agreements, commitments, discounts, and cloud financial management best practices
