Accounting Analyst

Agilus is recruiting for an Accounting Analyst in the Energy Industry in a hybrid work environment in Toronto, Ontario. Total rewards:- $43.00 hourly
- One - year contract position with a high chance of extension
- Hybrid work style: Mon, Tue, Thu in office
- Location: North York or Chatham
A day in the life:- Prepare and support month-end close activities, including journal entries, system reconciliations, reporting adjustments, and end-user reporting
- Ensure data integrity across billing, reporting, and ERP systems through regular validation and reconciliation
- Maintain, update, and document the finance department's internal control policies and procedures
- Act as a key liaison with internal and external auditors, supporting SOX compliance related to sales processes and controls
- Design, implement, and enhance reporting processes and practices, identifying efficiency gains and applying best practices
- Proactively identify process and system improvement opportunities
- Complete monthly balance sheet and account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Successful candidates will have:- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related discipline
- 3–4 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or a closely related role
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively and build strong working relationships across teams
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with SAP, Oracle, EPBCS, and Power BI would be an asset
- Superior computer skills including knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel
