Intermediate Drilling Engineer

Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Intermediate Drilling Engineer in the Oil and Gas Sector in St. John's, Newfoundland. Total rewards:- $77.00 - $99.00 hourly
- 12 Months of contract position
- 5 days on/2 days off
A typical day:- Works with JV Asset Manager to develop effective influencing campaign for securing operator commitment and collaborative relationship with the operator's drilling & wells team.
- Responsible for generating Wells cost estimates as required, Responsible for identifying Wells related project risks.
- Responsible for review technical plans and processes, Ensures alignment of technical execution with commercial objectives for all projects.
- Obtains upcoming JV Non-Operated Drilling Program from the Regional Asset/ Exploration Managers, Validates technical well design for class 4 & 5 wells.
- Monitors daily operations and provides technical expertise and feedback to operations team, Participates in joint technical team meetings, partner planning meetings, partner operations review meetings and ad hoc partner meetings.
- Prepares weekly and monthly reporting to Regional Wells Director and JV Manager, Communicates significant Wells EHS events/incidents to Regional Wells.
- Director and regional EHS&S department JV contact, Ensures that appropriate escalation of operational issues and over-commitment risks.
- Incorporates and shares lessons learned with Wells regions.
Successful candidates will have:- 15+ years experience in offshore well construction, intervention, and workover.
- Registered with FEPC as a professional engineer.
- Conversant with offshore well construction standards, practices, and procedures.
- Experience with well construction stage-gated processes.
- Interpersonal skills and ability to influence through non-authoritative leadership.
- Experience with subsea and platform well developments.
- Strong technical communication in English and people management skills, Knowledge of all aspects of interventions, work overs, drilling, and completions.
- Understanding of geophysical, geological, and reservoir engineering considerations, Working knowledge of applicable legislation, Communication and collaborative skills with other groups (well engineering, EHS&S, subsurface, and management stakeholders).
