Mechanical Technician II

Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Mechanical Technician II in the Oil and Gas Sector in Sept-Îles, Quebec.
Technicians are assigned to carry out maintenance work.

$41.00 hourly
2 Years of contract position

A typical day:

Marine Terminal Operator to support operations at a busy marine terminal facility.
The role involves handling product transfers through marine vessel receiving, rail car loading/unloading, and truck rack operations while ensuring compliance with all operational and safety procedures.
Candidates with mechanical aptitude, burner experience, MMF certification, Power Engineering background, or GLEX exposure are highly valued. Training can be provided for specialized terminal systems and operations.
Assists mechanical engineers in the planning and testing of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery, such as engines, instruments, controls, robots, machines, etc, Helps prepare proposals and cost estimates.
Actively participate in the use of all on the job safety tools, Review job packs, Identify any safety issues associated with job end ensure removal/mitigation prior to working, Execute work as planned, Record technical history as required by workgroup.(Global Reliability Tool (GRT), data sheet, etc.)
Provide feedback on job pack improvements to Execution FLS ,Request permits and notify Supervisor if permit cannot be issued within 30 minutes of requested time.
Monitor and operate terminal equipment, pumps, valves, burners, and related systems, Follow all site safety procedures, permits, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements ,Conduct equipment inspections and report operational or mechanical issues ,Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and logistics teams to ensure efficient product movement.

Successful candidates will have:

Discipline appropriate certification(s) if applicable or equivalent professional experience, Strong communication skills; ability to clearly and concisely describe conditions in the field and recommend remediation steps.
Experience in: Marine terminal operations, Tank farms, Refinery, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments, Rail loading or truck rack systems.
Team Player; exhibits effective teamwork when working with persons over whom the person may have no direct authority and willingness to assist others, Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities ,Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs.
Mechanical aptitude or maintenance background MMF (Machinist/Millwright/Fitter) certification preferred.
4th class Power Engineering certification considered an asset, GLEX or burner experience considered an asset.
