Project Controls Specialist | Capital Projects & Turnarounds | Immediate Start | 6-12 Month Contract
Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Project Controls Specialist in the Engineering / Construction / Oil & Gas / Industrial Projects in Saint John, New Brunswick.
Join a high-performing project team supporting capital projects and annual turnaround activities at a major industrial facility. This contract opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented Project Controls Specialist with strong analytical skills, project execution experience, and a solid understanding of project controls principles. You will play a key role in project planning, cost control, forecasting, reporting, and performance monitoring to help ensure safe, on-time, and on-budget project delivery.
Total rewards:

$35.00 - $75.00 hourly
6-12 month contract opportunity with rates based on experience

A typical day:

Develop and maintain project baselines, forecasts, and cost control processes
Monitor project performance against budgets, schedules, and forecasts
Prepare accurate cost reports and performance updates for stakeholders
Analyze project trends, risks, changes, and contingency impacts
Support project teams with planning, reporting, and execution activities
Validate project scope, commitments, and contractor performance data
Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, finance, and operations teams
Identify opportunities to streamline reporting, procedures, and project controls processes

Successful candidates will have:

Demonstrate strong project execution experience or interest in project delivery
Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Apply knowledge of project controls and project management principles
Possess strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Maintain high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
Hold post-secondary education in Business, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline
Bring at least 3 years of relevant project controls, construction, engineering, or project management experience
Must be highly organized, data-driven, and comfortable working onsite. The top success factors for this role are project execution capability, strong communication skills, and a solid understanding of project controls fundamentals including baselines, scheduling, cost reporting, and performance tracking.
