Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Automation and Control Systems - Engineering Specialist in the oil & gas industry in Saint John, New Brunswick.
In this role you will be part of a larger team responsible for administering and maintaining Automation Systems. Focusing on Process Control and Automation requires strong knowledge in technologies such as Distributed Control Systems, Programmable Logic Controllers, Asset Monitoring Systems and Safety Instrumented Systems.
Total rewards:

$90.00 - $130.00 hourly

Long term contract opportunity 1 year to start.
Onsite role - Monday - Friday in office in Saint John, NB

A typical day:

Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize automation, network, data centre, and control system performance.
Lead commissioning, testing, validation, verification, and preventive maintenance activities while managing contractors as required.
Support HAZOP/LOPA reviews, change management processes, technical documentation, engineering work packages, and on-call operations.
Develop and implement control strategies, safeguarding logic, and automation system architectures.
Configure and maintain PLC/DCS control logic, asset hierarchies, and industrial automation networks.
Design, support, and optimize smart motor control systems and high-availability industrial Ethernet infrastructure.
Execute control system patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management to ensure reliability and cybersecurity compliance.
Develop advanced alarm management strategies and ASM-compliant HMI graphics to improve operational performance.

Successful candidates will have:

Degree or diploma in Electrical/Electronics, Industrial Control, or related discipline; professional certifications and Red Seal trade qualifications considered strong assets.
Advanced Honeywell expertise, including Experion PKS, TPS/TDC, Safety Manager, HMI Web, and blending/movement administration systems.
Extensive OT experience supporting industrial automation environments, preferably within refining or heavy industry operations.
Strong background with Rockwell PLCs, FactoryTalk View Studio, machinery monitoring systems, and control system hardware.
Proven experience configuring and supporting OT networks, firewalls, virtualization platforms, Active Directory, Windows server environments, and Cisco infrastructure.
Knowledge of OT cybersecurity best practices, cyber monitoring systems, patch management, and secure network operations.
Hands-on troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and optimization of automation, control, and instrumentation systems.
Excellent communication, time management, critical thinking, and multitasking abilities, with experience working collaboratively in fast-paced operational environments.
