As a BIA Counselor, you’ll guide individuals through some of their most important financial decisions, helping them regain control, rebuild stability, and move forward with confidence. A typical day:- Conduct phone or Zoom counselling sessions with clients following their file signing
- Review and analyze clients’ budgets, income, and savings to help them manage their finances effectively.
- Schedule and complete two mandatory counseling sessions:
First session: 30–60 days after signing.
Second session: 7 months in.
- Ensure clients attend scheduled sessions; missed appointments may result in court involvement and delay discharge.
- Provide a Letter of Compliance at the end of the consumer proposal process.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all regulatory requirements are met.
You bring:- Active Licensed BIA (must have)
- Minimum 2–3 years of recent experience in financial counseling.
- Proficiency with Ascend software.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Empathy, professionalism, and the ability to guide clients through sensitive conversations
