Accounting Analyst- Term

Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for an Accounting Analyst- Term in the energy infrastructure sector in a hybrid work environment in North York, Ontario.
This is a term role until July 2027
Total rewards:

$40.00 - $45.00 hourly
Contract until July 2027
Full-time hours: 8 per day 40 per week

Responsibilities:

Performed complex accounting research and analysis, resolving accounting issues and supporting accurate financial reporting.
Prepared monthly account reconciliations and assisted with month-end and quarter-end close processes.
Reviewed contracts to assess accounting implications and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
Maintained and documented internal controls, ensuring SOX compliance and adherence to financial policies.
Collaborated with internal and external auditors on SOX processes, controls, and audit requirements.
Identified and implemented process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen financial controls.
Communicated complex accounting issues and their financial impacts to management and cross-functional stakeholders.
Supported special projects, ad hoc financial analysis, and cross-functional initiatives while meeting tight reporting deadlines.

You bring:

CPA designation with 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including US GAAP.
Experience in technical accounting, accounting research, and external financial reporting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presenting to senior management.
Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Experience with Oracle, SAP, and Hyperion SmartView is an asset.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and maintain a high level of integrity.
