Corporate Security Officer
Monteral, QC
Agilus is recruiting for a Corporate Security Officer in the oil & gas sector in Monteral, Quebec. The candidate will develop and maintain liaisons with local, provincial and federal government agencies as well as law enforcement and prosecutors, Will participate as a company representative to government agencies and interact with industry counterparts concerning security initiatives impacting interests. Total rewards:- $48.00 - $55.00 hourly
- Mon to Friday 8 hours a day
- 6 months to year contract
A typical day:- Ensure the consistent application of Corporate Security policies, standards and requirements across all sites, Provides support to all company controlled retail and wholesale sites in Eastern Canada.
- Acts as the first point of contact with Corporate Security for all matters relating to security for a given site or portfolio of sites, Ensures the reporting of all security incidents and oversees effective and timely incident response.
- Proactive liaison with Business Unit Operations Security Representatives and site operational management, Pro-actively analyses and identifies evolving trends and, behaviors' that have the potential to compromise site security and prepares reports and recommendations to address these risks.
- Working with operations to determine physical security requirements to address risk, increase productivity and lower costs, Assessing the effectiveness of existing security countermeasures and recommending solutions to enhance effectiveness.
- Coordinates the design, installation, management, maintenance and repair of security systems, Operational oversight of contracted guard services and liaison with management representatives of guard service providers, Establishing, reviewing and ensuring compliance with, site post orders for the contracted guard service.
- Providing assistance and support to Emergency Response Plans and rendering assistance to the Emergency Operations Centre, Developing, reviewing and implementing security plans for special events or changes in site operations, Liaison with jurisdictional law enforcement.
- Performs investigations of security incidents or of sensitive matters when requested by Corporate Security leadership, Direct decision making responsibility for some actions in respect of site security matters.
- Key decisions during investigations and incident response, Significant influence over the design, implementation and operation of security countermeasures and controls, Can direct contracted security providers in the delivery of security services.
Successful candidates will have:- Candidate must be Bilingual.
- Have successfully completed grade 12 although post-secondary studies in criminology, police studies, risk management or safety would be preferred, A Bachelor Degree would be an asset.
- Minimum of 7 years security experience gained in an industrial setting, Able to demonstrate a sound working knowledge of security program design, risk and threat assessment, security policy development, physical security design and crisis management planning.
- Working knowledge of access control, alarm systems and CCTV technology, Highly motivated, well-organized, a proven team player, exhibiting a consistent positive attitude with attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, conflict management and problem-solving skills, Ability to work independently while handling multiple assignments simultaneously, establish priorities and meet schedules, Must have superior computing skills.
- Security or related certification would be an asset, e.g. Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or Certified Risk Manager (CRM)
- May be required to oversee and provide direction to up to 50 contracted security guards.
- Must have a valid driver’s licence and valid passport, Be capable of obtaining a secret level security clearance, Previous Oil and Gas or Retail experience would be an asset.
