Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Senior CAD Designer - Structural in the Engineering consulting industry in Mississauga, Ontario.
The Structural Designer supports an engineering team delivering services for hydropower and heavy industrial projects. Working under the Lead Structural Designer, the role is responsible for developing structural 3D models and 2D drawings that meet project requirements. Responsibilities include the design, modeling, and drafting of reinforced concrete and structural steel systems for industrial facilities and hydropower plants. The position contributes to both front-end planning and detailed engineering phases on multidisciplinary projects, ensuring accurate, high-quality structural deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.

A typical day:

Assist the Lead Structural Designer in delivering project requirements related to scope, quantities, cost, and schedule.
Support engineers by setting up CAD models and developing sections and plans for structural analysis.
Coordinate drafting activities, including contract drawing preparation, record keeping, and project documentation.
Produce and maintain accurate 2D and 3D technical and engineering drawings using CAD software.
Develop conceptual layouts and detailed structural design drawings for project execution.
Ensure effective coordination with engineers, designers, and other disciplines to maintain design consistency.
Perform model clash detection and verify field conditions and dimensions at existing facilities.
Incorporate safety-in-design principles into all structural modeling and drafting activities.

Successful candidates will have:

Technical school diploma specializing in civil/structural design
10+ civil structures design experience with a focus on dam structures
Experience within a large project, multi-disciplinary EPCM environment
Proficient in the use of 2D and 3D structural design/drawing software packages
Experience with MicroStation OpenBuildings software.
