Heavy Duty Mechanic

Agilus is recruiting for a Heavy Duty Mechanic in the Oil and Gas Sector in Christina Lake, Alberta. Reporting to the NPI Coordinator, the Heavy-Duty Mechanic position will be an energetic self-starter, providing direct support and assistance to the NPI team, and Business Units, while supporting and demonstrating a strong safety culture and respectful work environment. Total rewards:- $61.00 - $74.00 hourly
- This is a Fly-In, Fly-Out position, working on a 7&7 rotation (Wednesday to Wednesday), flying out of Calgary or Edmonton
- 1 year contract
- Christina Lake location
A typical day:- Perform routine and non-routine duties to the fleet of Pick-ups, Light towers, HD trucks, Equipment, Generators, ATV’s, UTV’s, and various makes, models of support equipment, with direction from the Fleet Coordinator
- Complete repair and maintenance of Energy vehicles and equipment
- Order parts and receiving as required
- Complete internal work orders
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools
- Work closely with team members to ensure that job plans include accurate and current safety and environmental considerations
- Report incidents according to protocol and following up with such incidents with corrective and preventative measures
Successful candidates will have:- A High School Diploma is required
- A minimum of 5 years Journeyman experience is required
- Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyman ticket required – equivalent qualifications would be heavy-duty on-road certification and heavy-duty off-road certification
- A Minimum class 5 driver’s license with Air Brake Endorsement is required
- Advanced Electrical Diagnostic and Repair, Advanced Electronic Systems Diagnostic and Repair, Advanced Hydraulics Diagnostic and Repair experience is required
- Advanced Vehicle Diagnostic and Repair using OEM diagnostic platforms
- Experience with the following product lines is considered an asset; Ford, Kubota, Caterpillar, Detroit, and Cummins
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, repetitively, Ability to work indoors and outdoors, in all seasons, in extreme weather
