Materials Engineering Technologist

Fort McMurray, AB

Agilus is recruiting for a Materials Engineering Technologist in the Oil and Gas Sector in Fort McMurray, Alberta.
Fort McMurray (Mildred Lake most of the time but may need to visit Aurora North Location)
A typical day:

Create Inspection Packages for piping inspection (time based, condition based and/or risk based)
Review the NDE results, determine corrosion rate, Probability of Failure, Financial+SHE risk and make recommendations on interventions / next inspections as needed
Work with stake holders for higher corrosion rate circuits, piping inspection deferrals as needed
Work towards Zero overdue piping inspections in assigned units.

Successful candidates will have:

Bachelor of Materials Enggineering / Bachelor of Science - Materials Enggineering / Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering / Technologist (Inspection/Welding/Materials) or equivalent with 1-6 Yrs experience
Candidates with below experience will be given preference: a) Mechanical Engr with Piping experience b) Materials Engr with experience around damage mechanisms / inspection c) QA inspector with Piping inspection
Safety Tickets: - H2S - Permit receiver - Working from Hts - Confined space

Total rewards:

Work Location: Mildred Lake Syncrude site (may need to go to Aurora site infrequently)
1 year contract
Competitive Compensation
Shift Schedule: Monday to Friday 730 am to 4 pm. Rarely required to work on OT basis.
