Agilus is recruiting for a Bilingual Construction Contract Administrator in the Civil Engineering Industry in , Ontario.
We are seeking an Ontario based, Bilingual French/English Construction Contract Administrator (CA) with 7 to 10 years of civil construction administration and field review experience. The role is in the Commercial Development Group that's involved in projects nationally with mixed use commercial, retail & institutional projects. There is flexibility to work remotely if you are not close to one of the client offices and gives an opportunity to travel substantially to Quebec and potentially across Canada.

  • Reporting to the Contract Administration Manager, the CA is responsible for daily coordination of assigned projects, including periodic and full-time site review, as required, to determine if the project is progressing in General Conformance with the drawings and specifications
  • As a CA you will work with owners, contractors and all other project stake holders
  • Generally, this role is 50% of the time in the field, however due to the travel component of this role a larger portion of time would be dedicated to field work
  • Document translation, preparing and issuing site inspection reports
  • Reviewing, accessing and negotiating contractor change requests
  • Reviewing project as built information and assisting with letters of credit reduction
  • Reviewing and commenting on constructability aspects of design drawings, assisting in contract negotiation and award processes
  • Reviewing monthly contractor progress claims and issuing payment verifications

Successful candidates will have:
  • 5 - 10 years civil construction administration and field inspection experience preferably from a Civil Engineering background; A Diploma in related discipline
  • Fluent in French and English (speaking, reading and writing)
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends, as may be required to facilitate the inspection and administration requirements of their assigned projects
  • A valid driver’s license and regular access to a vehicle are mandatory to commute to project locations
  • Ability to understand and interpret Contract Documents and Drawings
  • Working knowledge of basic building code applications, Canadian Building Standards and Regulations
  • Knowledge of Construction materials, building trades, means and methods of the construction process, project scheduling, and the contractual obligations of sub-contractors, suppliers, and manufacturers through the construction process
  • Self-motivated and ability to work detached from base support staff
