Agilus is recruiting for a Project Manager – Energy Assessments - Environmental Due Diligence Group in the Environmental Consulting Industry in Pickering, Ontario.
Our client, a small boutique environmental consulting firm is seeking a Project Manager to lead the completion of energy modelling and audits. Working on projects for some key brands names, you will have the opportunity to oversee the completion of these assessments from origination to completion, including overseeing project staff. The energy assessments will primarily be focused on multifamily residential properties, either new construction projects or retrofit assessments.

  • Coordination of new assessments, including contract administration and client liaison activities, and budgeting of assessment
  • Completing site assessments and inspections of pre/post retrofit buildings, as required; Reviewing provided background documents, design drawings and specifications
  • Coordination of third-party modelers, serving as go-between to relay information from Clients to modelers and results from modelers to Clients
  • Provide commentary to Clients regarding various energy conservation measures to be implemented, including comments on potential improvements to the design or identification of recommended changes with estimated costs
  • Preparing technical reports, drawings, documentation of relevant interviews, site visit findings, and recommendations
  • Preparing oral and written communication to provide clients with recommendations based on applicable federal, provincial, and municipal regulations
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with existing and perspective clients

Successful candidates will have:
  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Completion of building modeling using eQUEST software (or equivalent software accepted by the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) for energy assessment projects)
  • Knowledge of energy standards, regulations and guidelines, building systems (structural, mechanical, electrical), and typical equipment types used
  • Must have 1 to 2 years of experience in a related field; good to have 3 to 5 years of experience in whole-building energy modeling role
  • Ability to perform field work and willingness to travel, generally within the province with occasional out-of-province travel
  • Ability to deliver high quality reports, have strong technical writing skills and can present information concisely and clearly
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to manage the demands of multiple concurrent projects and challenging deadlines
