Assistant Chief Engineer

Agilus Work Solutions is looking for an Asst. Chief Engineer for a well-known and ever-growing manufacturing company situated in Ontario.
Agilus is recruiting for an Assistant Chief Engineer in the manufacturing sector-.
If you are a 2nd/ 1st Class Power Engineer, with at least 3 years of experience in pulp mill, and strong background in training and leading a team of engineers under you, then this is the opportunity to start your long-term career with the company!

Duties:
  • Inform Chief Operating Engineer of potential major production concerns, opportunities and propose actions. Coordinate maintenance activities with production needs. Coordinate department activities with other business/operating units.
  • Provide scheduled on call coverage. Provide weekend on call coverage for mill.
  • Ensure departmental compliance with applicable OH&S legislation, Corporate, OHSAS 18001 and company procedures and guidelines. Ensure full compliance with collective agreement
  • Assist manager with department budget and explain variances with appropriate corrective action taken as required
  • Under Chief Power Engineer, the assistant Chief Engineer is directly responsible for the continued safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the steam and power generation accordance with the Power Engineers Acts and TSSA Standards
  • Carry out all required operational changes, safety inspections and procedures.
  • Will be leading a team and must have a strong employee management experience to implement progressive discipline, training and other management functions.
  • Other duties assigned.

Successful candidates will have:
  • 2nd Class or 1st Class Operating Engineer Certificate is a must
  • Experience and expertise in managing a team of engineers in the past
  • Minimum 4 years experience in 2nd/ 1st class boilers and pulp mills
  • Strong working proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP
  • Pulp and paper Industry experience will be considered a strong asset but not required
  • Valid authorization to work in Canada for any employer

Total rewards:
  • Salary range start from $125,000 ++ depending on the qualifications and interview processes.
  • Between $10,000- 15,000 relocation fee plus 14-day quarantine accommodations covered by company and other needed reimbursements
