Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Financial Analyst in the energy sector in a hybrid work environment in Toronto, Ontario.
In this highly visible role, you will collaborate with Finance, Asset Management, and business stakeholders to provide meaningful insights that influence critical operational and investment decisions. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, regulated environment where your expertise in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analytics will directly contribute to organizational success.

A typical day:
  • Consolidate and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual capital financial results, including Actuals, Budgets, and Forecasts
  • Support the development and maintenance of quarterly in-service capital forecasts and long-range financial plans
  • Provide financial analysis, reporting, and strategic decision support to Asset Management and business stakeholders
  • Consolidate forecast submissions from multiple business groups and calculate associated overhead allocations
  • Support the annual budgeting process, including variance analysis and preparation of supporting schedules
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders responsible for financial forecasting and reporting activities
  • Ensure financial reporting and tracking activities remain compliant with regulatory requirements and internal policies
  • Support SOX controls, audit requirements, risk management initiatives, and continuous process improvement efforts

Successful candidates will have:
  • University degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, FP&A, business performance analytics, or related finance functions
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and variance analysis
  • Experience working within a regulated industry or regulatory environment is considered a strong asset
  • Proficiency with ERP and financial systems such as SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, or similar platforms
  • 2 years of previous experience within a public accounting firm
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • CPA, CFA, MBA, CA, CMA, or CGA designation is preferred
