Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Scientific / Medical Director in the health sciences in a hybrid work environment in Toronto, Ontario.
Our client is seeking an accomplished Scientific or Medical Director to help shape the strategic direction of a rapidly growing organization operating at the intersection of healthcare, research, and advanced data science. This leadership position will serve as a key voice in identifying emerging trends, evaluating scientific opportunities, and guiding initiatives that have the potential to transform patient outcomes and healthcare innovation. The successful candidate will combine deep scientific credibility with strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, and organizational leadership.
A typical day:

Identify opportunities for new research, partnerships, and innovation initiatives.
Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership.
Engage with academic, clinical, industry, and research stakeholders.
Provide scientific oversight and thought leadership across programs and initiatives.
Represent the organization externally through partnerships, conferences, and industry engagements.
Help build and foster a culture of scientific excellence.
Help define and execute the organization's scientific and clinical strategy.
Monitor emerging developments across healthcare, oncology, precision medicine, genomics, data science, and related fields.

Successful candidates will have:

Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent) in a relevant scientific, medical, or healthcare discipline.
Significant leadership experience within healthcare, biotechnology, life sciences, research, academia, or related sectors.
Strong understanding of emerging trends in healthcare innovation and translational research.
Experience influencing strategy, research direction, or innovation programs.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and build consensus across diverse groups.

Total rewards:

$220000.00 - $350000.00 hourly

An ideal candidate has:

Experience in oncology, genomics, precision medicine, or advanced diagnostics.
