Engineering Manager

Agilus is recruiting for an Engineering Manager in the financial services industry in a hybrid work environment in Toronto, Ontario.
Our client is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead an Engineering team supporting a rapidly scaling digital banking platform. This role focuses on building and evolving automated systems that detect and mitigate financial risk and fraud, while preserving a seamless customer experience. You will influence technical strategy, grow strong teams, and partner closely with the business to enable safe, confident growth.

A typical day:
  • Lead delivery of risk-critical engineering initiatives end-to-end
  • Guide engineering processes for high-reliability and high-stakes systems
  • Define and execute technical strategy for risk, fraud, and trust platforms
  • Partner with Product, Risk, Compliance, and Operations stakeholders
  • Translate ambiguous risk problems into scalable technical solutions
  • Hire, coach, and develop a high-performing engineering team

Requirements:
  • Demonstrate 1–3 years of people management experience
  • Apply strong technical judgment and product delivery experience
  • Show background in B2B SaaS or fintech environments
  • Leverage experience with Node.js, TypeScript, React, and AWS
  • Own and scale internal tools or shared engineering platforms
  • Navigate complex technical tradeoffs with confidence

Total rewards:
