Senior Project Accountant Role Open!Agilus is recruiting for a Senior Project Accountant in the Real Estate Industry in Toronto, Ontario. As a Senior Project Accountant at CentreCourt, you will play a critical role in the financial stewardship of large-scale high-rise residential developments across the GTA. Partnering closely with project managers, cost consultants, lenders, and senior leadership, you will own the full accounting lifecycle of complex projects, ensuring financial accuracy, transparency, and timely funding from construction through close-out. A typical day:- Own month-end close for multiple development projects, ensuring all invoices are accurately submitted, approved, and processed on time
- Prepare and review monthly job cost reports, monitor budgets vs. actuals, and recommend budget transfers as required
- Liaise with project managers, cost consultants, lenders, and JV partners to support construction funding and reporting
- Review AP invoices and construction draw packages to ensure accuracy, completeness, and statutory compliance
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations, HST reconciliations, and ensure CRA compliance
- Prepare funding schedules, capital calls, and working capital analysis for active projects
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to internal teams and senior leadership
- Support year-end reporting, project close-outs, statements of adjustments, and auditor inquiries
Successful candidates will have:- CPA designation required (or actively completing final requirements)
- 4+ years of progressive experience in project accounting, development accounting, or real estate finance
- Strong understanding of job cost accounting, construction budgets, and development funding
- Experience with joint venture accounting strongly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with strong analytical and reporting capabilities
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage high volumes of financial data accurately
- Strong organizational skills and proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative communication style with the ability to support and mentor junior AP staff
