Sr. Data Governance Analyst

Agilus is recruiting for a Sr. Data Governance Analyst in the investment management space in a hybrid work environment in Toronto, Ontario. We are seeking a Senior Data Governance Analyst to support a large enterprise data initiative within a leading institutional investment environment. This role focuses on embedding governance practices into project delivery to ensure critical data assets are clearly defined, well documented, and properly governed. The successful candidate will work closely with data engineering teams, business stakeholders, and project leadership to ensure governance standards are applied consistently across data assets, reporting, and operational processes. Responsibilities:- • Support implementation of enterprise data governance standards across a major data initiative
- • Guide teams through creation of governance artifacts including ownership, stewardship, metadata, and data quality documentation
- • Ensure datasets entering the enterprise data platform are properly documented, cataloged, and governed
- • Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to embed governance requirements within data pipelines and reporting environments
- • Define and document data quality rules, thresholds, and monitoring processes
- • Support governance operating models including ownership structures, stewardship workflows, and issue management
- • Ensure reporting assets follow governance standards including report ownership, publication controls, and access management
- • Facilitate workshops and working sessions to help teams understand governance responsibilities and standards
Successful candidates will have:- • 10+ years experience in data governance, data management, or data quality roles
- • Strong experience implementing governance frameworks within large enterprise data initiatives
- • Experience creating governance artifacts such as business glossaries, data dictionaries, lineage documentation, and metadata catalogs
- • Experience working closely with data engineering teams and modern data platforms
- • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- • Experience in financial services, investment management, or other complex enterprise environments is highly desirable
- • Familiarity with governance tools such as Collibra, Alation, Atlan, or similar platforms is considered an asset
