Civil Lead Engineer

Agilus is recruiting for a Civil Lead Engineer in the Global Engineering, Procurement & Construction Company in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The purpose of this position is to provide leadership on civil engineering aspects in assisting our clients to advance their projects through the application of cost effective and technically sound solutions appropriate for the particular project development phases, from scoping study, feasibility studies, detailed design, to construction and commissioning. This role has the responsibility to promote competitiveness within the global resources development marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence.
A typical day:

• Apply Cost Competitive Execution techniques to develop the cost-effective total project solution for execution of the discipline engineering work to match project requirements at various stages of project development.
• Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve problems of moderate or complex engineering problems
• Contribute and/or participate in the preparation of technical documentations including engineering study reports, memoranda, contracts scope of work and selection recommendations
• Review deliverables/documentation originated within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution
• Possess strong technical knowledge and background with civil engineering subjects such as hydrology, hydraulics, drainage, roadwork and earthworks, utility infrastructures design
• Direct a civil engineering task force to undertake civil engineering work related to resource project development and construction, in one or more of the following areas:
o Open channel and pressurized process solution and slurry transportation
• Manage civil task force’s deliverable budget and schedule as required to meet overall project requirements

Successful candidates will have:

Accredited four (4) year degree or accredited Bachelor of Science Degree or advance degree in Civil Engineering and minimum fifteen (15) years of progressing work-related experience
Professional registration with Engineers and Geoscientists, BC
Experience working on Mining projects is an asset
Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors

Total rewards:

$86.00 - $105.00 hourly
These office roles will have every other Friday off with longer in office days. Week 1 = Mon-Thu Week 2 = Mon-Fri
Vancouver location, onsite role
1 year contract
