Contract H&S Advisor

Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Contract H&S Advisor in the Oil and Gas Sector in Calgary, Alberta. The role of the Contract H&S Advisor is to provide subject matter expertise and drive consistent application of policy, standards, procedures at the field level. A Contract H&S Advisor is a role model advancing the H&S strategy and providing expertise and direction to the business. Building and maintaining strong team focused relationships is critical to the success of this position. Total rewards:- $785.00 hourly
- 12 Months of contract
- TBD based on site locations. Likely 8 days on/6 days off- 12 hour days.
- T4 Day rate of $785.00 a per day.
IC Day rate of $925.00 a per day.
- This role could be based at any of the Oilsands sites. Sunrise, Foster Creek, Christina Lake.
All have camp facilities. This role would drive to site.
A typical day:- Provide direct support to execution teams regarding the interpretation of applicable OHS Legislation, Industry standards & practices, H&S program components and worker training requirements.
- Able to speak with authority and coach on CVE programs, processes and standards, Assist in the implementation of the strategy and direction and goal alignment with the organization’s priorities.
- Participating in the review of project specific safety documents and associated contractor performance meetings, Ensure H&S planning is in line with the business strategy and growth plans.
- Coach, influence, motivate and empower others (internally and externally) with regards to H&S ownership, Communicate relevant and timely H&S information to the right stakeholders.
- Steward safe performance the Operational Integrity Management System (COIMS) and related H&S requirements, Assist in building and sustaining H&S capability platform tailored to business needs for field operations.
- Collaborate within the organization to share best practice, lessons learnt and improve knowledge management, Stay abreast of emerging H&S issues and legislation. Keep the respective assets updated with relevant requirements and assist with compliance to H&S legislation.
Successful candidates will have:- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, ideally in Major Projects functions, specializing in the H&S Occupation.
- OH&S Education such as NCSO, CRSP or CRST.
- Possesses strong Health & Safety management system technical knowledge.
- Prepared to gain a detailed knowledge of all H&S standards, policies, and procedures.
- Able to make decisions under tight timelines and multiple pressures, Searches for understanding and to find new and appropriate solutions.
