Agilus is recruiting for a Senior Environmental Scientist in the Environmental Consulting Industry in Fort St. John, British Columbia.
Our client is seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist, Remediation to lead and sign off on Stage I & II Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) and remediation programs for oil & gas and industrial projects across British Columbia. This role combines technical authority, project leadership, and client engagement, requiring deep expertise in environmental regulations, site assessment, and remediation strategies.

A typical day:

Lead and oversee Stage I & II ESAs, Detailed Site Investigations, and remediation programs for oil & gas and industrial sites
Review, approve, and sign off on technical reports ensuring regulatory compliance and technical accuracy
Develop and implement remediation strategies and creative environmental solutions for complex sites
Analyze and interpret soil, groundwater, and contamination data to guide decision-making
Provide expert guidance on BCER regulations and Certificates of Restoration (CoR) processes
Manage and mentor field teams, consultants, and contractors on project execution and safety standards
Build and maintain strong client relationships, supporting project strategy and delivery excellence
Champion a culture of health, safety, quality, and continuous improvement across all projects

Successful candidates will have:

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Biology, or related discipline
Professional designation in BC (e.g., P.Eng., P.Geo., P.Ag., RPBio)
Minimum 8+ years of environmental experience, with focus on ESAs and remediation
Strong knowledge of BC environmental regulations and BCER requirements
Experience with soil sampling, groundwater monitoring, and contamination assessment
Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage multidisciplinary teams and contractors
Excellent communication, client management, and technical report writing skills
