Contract Structural Engineer – Oil Sands Operations | 4 Day Workweek | FIFO or BIBOAgilus is recruiting for a Structural Engineer in the Oil and Gas industry in Fort McMurray, Alberta. This contract Structural Engineer role supports a large-scale, operating oil sands facility with a focus on asset integrity and risk mitigation. Reporting into site maintenance leadership, you will develop and execute a data-driven structural inspection program for brownfield infrastructure while working closely with operations and maintenance teams. This is a hands-on, safety-sensitive role suited for an experienced Professional Engineer who thrives in active industrial environments. Total rewards:- $95.00 - $120.00 hourly

Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a structural inspection program for a brownfield facility
- Assess structures including pipe racks, conveyors, towers, cranes, and hoppers
- Optimize inspection strategies to manage operational and safety risks
- Communicate engineering needs with multiple business unit teams
- Support ongoing projects impacting structural assets
- Provide practical engineering guidance to operations and maintenance
- Apply structured processes to execute inspections and recommendations
- Promote and follow site health, safety, and environmental standards
Requirements:- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Civil or Structural
- Maintain Professional Engineer registration in Alberta
- Bring 5+ years of structural engineering experience in industrial facilities
- Demonstrate experience in operational oil and gas environments
- Show strong collaboration with operations and maintenance teams
- Possess solid knowledge of Alberta OH&S and WCB regulations
- Exhibit strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
- Work independently while contributing effectively to large teams
