Fly-In/Fly-Out Opportunity in Fort McMurrayAgilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Civil Technologist in the Oil and Gas industry in Fort McMurray, Alberta. We are recruiting a Civil Technologist for a hands-on field-based opportunity supporting the construction and quality control of mine earth structures in the Fort McMurray region. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, conducting inspections and testing, and contributing directly to large-scale mining operations. Responsibilities:- Perform construction quality control monitoring on mine earth structures
- Conduct daily inspections of borrow sources and active construction areas
- Complete in-situ soil density testing using nuclear densometer equipment
- Interpret and follow issued-for-construction drawings and technical specifications
- Apply quality management systems and safe operating procedures in the field
- Communicate with operations, engineering, and project stakeholders
- Document construction activities, test results, and observations accurately
- Prepare and submit daily reports and project documentation
Requirements:- Hold a diploma in Civil, Construction, Geological, Geomatics, Mining, or a related engineering technology discipline
- Be eligible for ASET registration as a C.Tech. or C.E.T.
- Possess at least one year of construction quality control experience
- Demonstrate experience working in outdoor construction, mining, or industrial environments
- Maintain a valid Class 5 driver's licence with a strong driving record
- Understand material classification, soil testing, and earthworks construction principles
- Exhibit strong communication, observation, and documentation skills
- Be comfortable performing physically demanding work in varying weather and terrain conditions
