Structural Designer

Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Structural Designer in the commercial sector in Edmonton, Alberta.
This role offers the opportunity to join a growing structural engineering team working on commercial and multi-dwelling projects valued from $3M to $80M. You will lead structural design from concept through construction, coordinate closely with clients and internal teams, and play a key role in delivering fast-paced projects with high technical standards. This is a fully in-office position suited to professionals who thrive in collaborative, hands-on environments.

A typical day:

Design structural systems for concrete, steel, masonry, and wood buildings
Coordinate projects from concept design through construction drawings
Communicate directly with clients, contractors, and internal teams on technical solutions
Review shop drawings and perform construction field reviews
Oversee production staff preparing structural working drawings
Conduct site visits during project conception and construction phases

Requirements:

Bring at least five years of structural design experience in commercial buildings
Demonstrate strong proficiency with ETABS, SAFE, and S-Frame software
Apply deep knowledge of NBCC and related Canadian design codes
Communicate confidently on site without deferring decisions unnecessarily
Hold registration or eligibility with APEGA or ASET
Commit to full-time, fully in-office work in an engineering consulting environment
