Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Project Engineer in the Fire Protection Service Industry in Edmonton, Alberta.
Agilus is recruiting for a Mechanical Project Engineer with a specialized consulting engineering firm delivering fire protection, industrial utility, and mechanical building systems projects across commercial, institutional, and industrial sectors. This is an opportunity to lead technically challenging projects from concept through construction while working directly with clients, contractors, architects, and multidisciplinary engineering teams. The successful candidate will combine strong mechanical engineering expertise with project leadership and client relationship management skills.

Total rewards:
  • $125000.00 - $140000.00 annually
  • Earn a competitive base salary of $125,000 to $140,000 based on experience

Responsibilities:
  • Lead mechanical and fire protection engineering projects from concept through construction and commissioning
  • Design and review sprinkler, fire suppression, HVAC, plumbing, and industrial utility systems
  • Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, design calculations, and technical reports
  • Coordinate project activities with clients, contractors, architects, authorities having jurisdiction, and internal teams
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and technical deliverables
  • Conduct site reviews, inspections, construction administration, and commissioning support
  • Mentor junior engineers, designers, and technical staff
  • Support business development initiatives and maintain strong client relationships

Requirements:
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Maintain P.Eng. registration with APEGA or be eligible for registration in Alberta
  • Possess 5+ years of consulting engineering experience in building systems, fire protection, or industrial utility projects
  • Demonstrate expertise in sprinkler system design, fire protection systems, HVAC systems, or mechanical building services
  • Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Perform construction administration, field reviews, and client-facing project coordination
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, regulators, and multidisciplinary stakeholders
  • Travel periodically to project sites across Alberta as required (up to 10% of the role); Lead projects independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
