Lead Strategic Procurement for Major Capital Projects Across North America | Procurement Specialist
Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Procurement Specialist in the engineering & construction sector in in Edmonton, Alberta.
Are you a strategic procurement professional with experience supporting large-scale capital projects? Our client is seeking a Procurement Specialist to lead end-to-end sourcing and contracting activities for major infrastructure and utility projects. This role offers the opportunity to work with project teams, negotiate high-value agreements, manage supplier relationships, and influence procurement strategies while supporting a significant capital portfolio with occasional travel to the United States.

  • Earn a competitive contract rate of $50-$55/hour T4 or $65-$70/hour Incorporated
  • Six month contract with potential extension

Responsibilities:
  • Lead end to end procurement and contracting processes
  • Develop sourcing strategies for construction and professional services
  • Prepare RFx and contract documents with internal stakeholders
  • Facilitate supplier evaluations, negotiations, and award recommendations
  • Build and maintain supplier relationships and long term contracts
  • Assess market conditions and recommend procurement approaches
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and competitive bidding laws
  • Analyze spend data to optimize cost, delivery, and quality

Requirements:
  • Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management or a related business field
  • 3+ years of category-based buying and contract negotiation experience
  • Experience supporting capital project procurement in heavy industrial environments
  • Knowledge of construction delivery models such as DB, CMAR, and IPD
  • Strong understanding of competitive bidding, contract law, and risk management
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ERP systems (Oracle), and eProcurement tools
  • Professional purchasing designation (CSCP, CPIM, CPCM) preferred
  • Strong communication, analytical, and cross functional collaboration skills
