Piping Designer / Drafter

Agilus is recruiting for a Piping Designer/Drafter in the Oil & Gas Pipelines Sector in a hybrid work environment in Edmonton, Alberta.
This role focuses on converting contractor redlines into accurate as-built drawings while maintaining strict adherence to client drafting standards. The drafter collaborates with remote teams to resolve comments, troubleshoot issues, and deliver high-quality, accurate work on schedule within a fast-paced, high-volume environment, all while upholding data security and project procedures.

A typical day:
  • Convert contractor redline markups into finalized as-built drawings in accordance with client drafting standards.
  • Draft, update, and revise drawings using AutoCAD, working from PDFs, non-native files, and rasterized content where required.
  • Apply discipline-specific drafting standards, codes, and established design practices to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Maintain high-quality drawing outputs by interpreting markups correctly, validating completeness, and coordinating with checking/QA personnel.
  • Support multi-discipline drawing packages, with a strong emphasis on Electrical, and additional Mechanical and basic Structural updates.
  • Ensure proper document control, including file naming, versioning, and digital traceability within a shared environment (e.g., SharePoint)
  • Deliver drafting work on schedule while meeting required quality, accuracy, and documentation expectations in a high-volume workflow.
  • Troubleshoot drafting issues and collaborate with remote peers, checkers, and project stakeholders to resolve comments promptly.

Successful candidates will have:
  • 3+ years of drafting experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD tools.
  • Demonstrated experience producing as-built drawings, including working with redline markups and contractor-provided updates.
  • Ability to work effectively from PDFs, non-native files, and rasterized documents.
  • High attention to detail with strong document control discipline.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaborate with distributed teams.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
