Electrical Engineer III

Agilus is recruiting for a Electrical Engineer III in the Oil and Gas Sector in Edmonton, Alberta.
The Senior Engineer oversees the design of expansion and maintenance capital projects executed by Engineering service providers, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, specifications and processes and operational reliability requirements within project budget and schedule. They liaise with stakeholders to interpret key information for competitive solutions and successful project execution.

Total rewards:
  • $60.00 - $75.00 hourly
  • Pay Rates - $60 to $65/hr as T4 and $70 to $75/hr as an IC
  • Location: Edmonton or Calgary, AB
  • Duration: 1 year contract
  • Travel: 10% to sites and potential travel to USA for meetings

A typical day:
  • • Own and manage the relationship and contracts with Engineering services providers
  • • Lead the design review process with internal and external stakeholders ensuring regulatory requirements, code and specifications, standards and procedures are followed including Process Hazard operability and constructability perspective
  • • Manage the specification and requisition of materials by reviewing vendor materials quotations, evaluate technical bid evaluations and provide recommendation based on technical merit along with price and delivery. Collaborate with Supply Chain to procure material via internal tools.
  • • Provide planning and scheduling for design and procurement phases of the project
  • • Provide technical support during all project phases, including project development, construction, and commissioning.
  • • Manage engineering firms to incorporate red-line markups into as-built drawings for all projects
  • • Reviews lessons learned from past projects and incorporates recommendations into future designs
  • • Provides support and assistance to peers and more senior staff in order to facilitate/lead business or department initiatives and legal compliance

Successful candidates will have:
  • • 8+ years progressive experience in Engineering system design and commissioning activities within Oil and Gas Industry• Professional Engineer designation a mandate
  • • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university or college.
  • o Proven planning, organizational, problem solving, decision – making and negotiating skills, supplemented with a practical aptitude.
  • • Effectively communicate technical issues and impacts to other technical and non-technical staff
