Cost / Schedule / Controls Engineer / Specialist III

Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Cost / Schedule / Controls Engineer / Specialist III in the Oil and Gas Sector in Edmonton, Alberta. The Cost/Schedule/Controls Engineer will also prepare Check Estimates and Schedules to compare with Operated by Others (OBO) Operator-prepared submittals. Also this person will participate in estimate / Schedule assessments (verification of project cost & schedule bases). Lastly, they are expected to participate in Estimating Group process efficiency tools and quality assurance review process improvements. Total rewards:- $96.00 hourly
- 12 Months of contract position
- 5 days on / 2 days off
A typical day:- Responsible for maintaining change control, cost reports, etc.
- Work with project estimator, planner and scheduler and Client’s accounting staff.
- Coordinate and assemble the monthly progress reports.
- Work closely with client’s project manager and team leads for regulated and non-regulated accounting reporting requirements.
Successful candidates will have:- 15 years experience must have.
- Engineering degree or engineering technologist background (experience is prioritized over education).
- Strong cost estimating experience, Background in oil & gas projects, preferably on the owner/operator side.
- An experienced oil & gas cost estimator with deep upstream expertise, capable of working independently, collaborating across geographically dispersed teams, and mentoring junior staff while supporting a diverse project portfolio.
- Significant upstream experience, particularly: Alberta oil sands, Mining projects, Drilling projects
Ability to quickly adapt to existing systems and processes.
- Experience in refining/downstream projects
Broader exposure to: Upstream, Midstream
Downstream.
- Skills to negotiate and broker successful solutions between Internal Coordination parties above, Advanced level proficiency in Cost Estimating, Project Planning and Project Controls, Strong Influencing, consulting, mentoring, analytical, and computing skills.
- Adaptability to changing priorities, Strong interpersonal and communication skills, Ability to organize, plan, control, coordinate, and effectively manage cross-functional activities.
